A. "Curtis" Hinson Jr., age 82 of Hockessin, DE died on June 30, 2008 at Churchman's Village, Newark, DE. Born in Fair Bluff, NC, he was a longtime resident of Wilmington, DE. A mechanic, he owned & operated his own business where he was a subcontractor for Gulf Oil & Sun Oil Co.. In his earlier years, he was a Country Singer who performed with Country Music Stars Loretta Lynn & Ernest Tubb. Curtis recorded several hits in the 50's including "Your Old Love is Haunting You Still" & "Cotton Pickin Baby", In the 50's & early 60's, he was the local home band at Sunset Park in Jennersville, Pa.. He is preceded in death by his parents, A. Curtis Hinson Sr. & Cleora Morris Hinson, 1 Sister, Gean Hinson who died in 1948, 1 Grandson, James Lakin JR who died in 2005 & his former wife, Elizabeth Hinson who also died in 2005. He is survived by 4 Children, Beverly Lakin of Linwood, Pa, Dr. Curtis Hinson of Hockessin, DE, Kathy Hinson of Wilmington, DE & James Hinson of Winter Haven, FL., 3 Brothers, Oliver Hinson of Conway, SC, Hoover Hinson of Fair Bluff, NC & George Hinson of Stanley, NC, 4 Sisters, Frances Watts of Beaufort, NC, Marion Caudell of Baldwin, GA, Lydia Hinson of Cerra Gorda, NC & Gayle Bullard of Fair Bluff, NC and 3 Grandchildren, Taylor, Keegan & Emily Hinson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 12th, 11:00AM at Fair Bluff Church of God, a54 Enzor St., Fair Bluff, where friends may call from 10-11AM. Interment will follow at Old Powell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Odyssey Health Care, 1407 Foulk RD., Ste. 200, Wilm., DE 19803.
