She also was very involved in the arts. Adeline was an accomplished classical pianist and a talented oil painter, with works displayed in a state museum gallery in W. Va. During her W. Va. years, she became an avid gardener, back packer and snow skier, and was a member of Junior League, National Garden Club, Book Club and numerous service organizations. She was also a member of the Episcopal Church choir. Adeline continued her lifelong dedication to service work during her time in the Florida Keys. She was a founding member of the Anne McKee Artists Fund, and a member of the Monroe County Fine Arts Council and the Board of Impromptu Concerts. She also sponsored a visiting String Quartet Concert Series and the New York City Opera Series. She won the Golden Piano Award for judging and promoting piano competitions, and served on numerous other boards supporting art, music and theater. In 2005, in recognition of her unwavering devotion to young artists and musicians, a permanent scholarship fund, Adeline's Angels Fund, was established to benefit musically and artistically talented homeless children in Pittsburgh, Penn. Final rites will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Fair Bluff United Methodist Church, followed by a family visitation at the fellowship hall.
