Barbara Barnes

Barbara Hughes Barnes, age 72, of Calabash, NC, died Friday, May 22, 2026, in her home. Born in Columbus County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Carwell Hughes and the late Meredith Hayes Hughes and the widow of the late Chip Barnes. In the addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Pamela Burchette.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Miranda Rooks (Justin) of North Myrtle Beach, SC; a brother, Michael Hughes (Susan) of Fair Bluff, NC, a sister, Terry Enzor (Wendell) of Orrum, NC, and grandson, Trent Rooks of North Myrtle Beach, SC.
