Barbara Jones Hathaway

Barbara Ann Jones Hathaway, age 86, of Goose Creek, SC, formerly of Summerville, SC, passed away, June 11, 2026.

She was a loyal employee to the state of SC for numerous years before fully retiring. 

Barbara is the daughter of the late Clifton Jones and Rosa Mae Jones and is also predeceased by her husband James Hathaway; her son, Dennis Thompson and her daughter, Penny Spell. 

She is survived by her grandchildren, Michael Thompson (Kim) of Kinston, NC; Shelley Wells (Brent) of Cape Carteret, NC; Joshua Thompson of Western, NC; and Adam Bennett of Kinston, NC. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren; Kayla Thompson of Kinston, NC; Hunter Thompson of Kinston, NC; Bethany Wells, Millie Wells, Ivy Wells and Konner Wells all of Cape Carteret, NC and Henry May of Pacolet, SC.

A graveside service will be held in the Powell Cemetery Sunday June 14, 2026 at 4PM.
