Bertice Ellis Stanley, 101 died Saturday November 16, 2013 at Shoreland Healthcare in Whiteville.

Mrs. Stanley was born September 12, 1912 in Columbus County, a daughter of the late Nicholas R. and Della Harrelson Bullard. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Collie Ellis, Sr. and Lawrence Stanley; two sons, W.C. Ellis, Jr. and Johnny D. Ellis; 2 grandsons, Ronald K. Herring and Jerry A. Ellis, and her 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Mrs. Stanley was a member of Fair Bluff Baptist Church and will always be remembered for her Love of God and her Family and for being everyone’s favorite baker of cakes, pies and cookies.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM, Tuesday November 19, 2013 at Fair Bluff Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Powell Cemetery.

Surviving are her daughter, Margaret E. Herring and husband Simon of Fair Bluff, two daughter-in-laws, Hilda B. Ellis and Phyllis B. Ellis; 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and 1 step great great grandchild.
