Betty Sue Fairfax, 82 of Lumberton, formerly of Fair Bluff, died Tuesday June 11, 2013.

Mrs. Fairfax was born in Mullins, SC a daughter of the late Arthur and Annie Bass Hammond. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James. B. “Jimmy” Fairfax; her brothers, Luther Hammond, Gately Hammond and her sister, Ernestine Hammond.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday June 14, 2013 at Fair Bluff Baptist Church, Dr. Ray Lundy and Rev. Warren Hill will officiate, burial will follow in the Powell Cemetery.

Surviving are: her son, Keith Fairfax and  Jeanne Williams of Sunset Beach; her daughter, Carol Patterson of Lumberton; her grandchildren, Ron Hinson, Lisa Bass and her husband Frank, Quinton Fairfax and his wife Mandi, and Anna Fairfax; her great grandchildren, Jessica Hinson, Elizabeth Hinson, Amanda Hinson, Nicole Bass, Jake Bass and Landon Fairfax; her great, great grandchildren, Christian, Alivia, Iyonna, Layla, Marleigh, Elijah and her special pet and companion Niko.

The family will receive friends Thursday June 13, 2013 from 7 until 9 PM at the funeral home.
