Bonnie Meares

Bonnie Meares, age 72 of Cerro Gordo, NC, died Thursday, May 16, 2024 in the Premier Living and Rehab Center, Lake Waccamaw, NC. Born March 17,1952 in Marion County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Earl Read and the late Grace Read.

She is survived by her husband, John Meares of the home; three sons, Jimmy Powell of Tabor City, NC, Elec Powell of Fair Banks, Alaska, and Kevin (Terri) Hood of Leonardtown, Md. Bonnie is also survived by three sisters; Dot Glascock (Danny) of Fair Bluff, NC, Helen Hammond (Dane) of Cerro Gordo, NC, and Linda Bookhout (Mike) of West Union, SC., and four grandchildren.

Bonnie served the community for over 30 years as a nurse.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, May 19, at 2:00 PM at the Hammond Cemetery in Cerro Gordo, NC.
