Carlie Howard Blackwell, 81 of Cerro Gordo died Wednesday March 23, 2011 at Columbus Regional Healthcare in Whiteville. Mr. Blackwell was born in Columbus County a son of the late William Coy and Bertha Powell Blackwell. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church and was a mechanic at Fair Bluff Ford. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Talmadge Blackwell and William Coy "W.C." Blackwell, Jr.. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday March 26, 2011 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Rev. Jeff Stocks will officiate. Burial will follow in the Gowans Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Betty Green Blackwell of the home; a daughter, Pat Harrelson and her husband Alan of Whiteville; a brother, Colonel Ray Blackwell and his wife Elizabeth of Cerro Gordo; a granddaughter, Breianne Cribb and her husband Terry Cribb, Jr of Clarendon; 2 great grandchildren, Terry Cribb, III and Gavin Cribb.
