Christine S. Hammond, 78 of the Spring Branch Community died Saturday January 3, 2015.

Mrs. Hammond was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late Edmund and Katie Floyd Strickland. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hammond was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Jo Haynes. She was a true southern cook and was also an avid outdoorsman, enjoying deer and turkey hunting. Mrs. Hammond was a member of Spring Branch Baptist Church, believed in God and believed in the power of prayer. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed not only her family and friends, but also enjoyed working.

 Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, January 5, 2015 at Spring Branch Baptist Church, burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in thefellowship hall of the church beginning at 10AM.

 Surviving are her husband, Ollie P. Hammond of the home; her daughter, Jackie Hammond Park and her husband Joey of Myrtle Beach; 2 grandchildren, Lauren Nicole Park and Elliot Joseph Park ; 2 brothers, Floyd Strickland of Nichols, Troy Strickland of Myrtle Beach. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many special friends.
