Daniel Jr. Mouzon, 87, of Evergreen, NC, formerly of Kingstree, SC, widower of the late Dorothy Mouzon, who passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026.

Daniel Mouzon Jr., a devoted man of faith, a master of his craft, and a beloved family patriarch, transitioned from this life to his eternal reward on May 1, 2026.

Mr. Mouzon was born on October 22, 1938, in Kingstree, South Carolina, to the late Daniel Mouzon Sr. and Carrie Mouzon. He grew up in the South Carolina Low-country and graduated from Tomlinson High School in Kingstree. For many years, Daniel dedicated his professional life to the manufacturing of ink, working for Magic Markers and later Honeywell until his well-earned retirement. A man who found joy in the work of his hands, he also spent many years as a skilled part-time brick mason, leaving a tangible legacy in the structures he helped build.

Daniel’s heart belonged to the Lord and his family. For many years, he was a faithful member and Deacon of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Bordentown, New Jersey, where he served his community with humility and grace. Upon retiring, Daniel and his beloved wife, Dorothy, moved to Salisbury, North Carolina, to enjoy their golden years together. Following Dorothy’s passing, Daniel relocated to Evergreen, North Carolina, where he resided with his daughter, Joyce Haynes, until he was called home.

He was preceded in death by: his devoted wife, Dorothy Mouzon; his sons, Curtis and Terry Mouzon; his daughter, Georgette Marie White; his brothers, Marion and James Mouzon; and his sister, Dorothy Redding.

His memory will be forever cherished by: his sisters, Geraldine McCullough and Corrine Fulton; his children, Joyce (Dennis) Haynes, Stephanie (Willie) Washington, Rosemary (Harvey) Jones, Joel (Jennifer) Mouzon, and stepson Wilbert Johnson.

Daniel’s legacy continues through his sixteen grandchildren, Terrance, Ebony, Maisah, Brittany, Donnell Jr., Jessica, Darien, Jocelyn, Michael, Arnita, Tyrell, Andrew, Daniel, Precious, Valerie, and Shy; his eighteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were touched by his kindness and strength.
