David Leslie Stone was welcomed into heaven by his grandsons Noah Whitfield Smith and Stone Michael Smith at 5:12am on February 11 2014 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield NC. 

 He was born October 4, 1944, he was the late son of Theodore Roosevelt Stone and Aileen Hardin Stone.  He is survived by his wife Brenda King Stone and his two daughters Leslie Stone Turbeville and husband Kevin, Dawn Stone Smith and husband Bryan. He is survived by two brothers, Barnes Stone of Fair Bluff NC and Douglas Stone of Lincolnton NC, and two sisters Nell Malcolm of Fair Bluff NC and Elsie Smith of Lincolnton NC.  Grandchildren Amanda Turbeville Moore and husband Arthur "Bud" Moore, Brittany Necole Taylor and husband Randy Kyle Taylor, Meghann D Cloer and Ethen Michael Smith. Great-Grandchildren Drake, Payton, Emilee and Nathan.

 He was a faithful employee at S.T. Wooten for 18 years and an active member of Smithfield Church of God.

 Graveside service will be held on Saturday February 15th, 2014 at 2 pm at Spring Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Nichols SC. Memorial service will be held Sunday February 16th, 2014 at 3 pm at the Smithfield Church of God in Smithfield NC. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to SECU Hospice House in Smithfield NC.
