Douglas Arnold Strickland, 71 of Cerro Gordo passed away Friday August 27, 2010 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham. Mr. Strickland was born in Columbus County the son of the late Delmas Strickland and Treva Sealey Strickland. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday August 31 at Meares Funeral Home, Dr. Ray Lundy will officiate. Burial will follow in the Haynes-Sealey Cemetery. Surviving are a loving companion, Ms. Robin Sizemore of the home and a sister, Mrs. Ethel "Billie" Cost of Birmingham, AL. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Monday August 30, 2010.
