Dudley Edward Revels, 54 of Fair Bluff died Monday, October 14, 2013. He was born in Charlotte on June 23, 1959. He graduated from Olympic High School and received his undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University and his graduate degree from Winthrop University.

Dudley was a retired educator and devoted and beloved coach. He was passionate about the game of football and sought to help as many young people as possible pursue their sports dreams through coaching football, basketball and softball. He was active in his church Fair Bluff Baptist, where he has served as an usher, youth leader, VBS teacher, and on several committees. He also served on the advisory board for the Fair Bluff Community Library. Most importantly, Dudley was a loving and devoted husband and father to wife, Eve, and daughter, Ella Grace.

Dudley is survived by his wife Eve and daughter Ella Grace of the home; daughters, Megan and Madison, and a son Matthew Revels all of Stanfield NC; parents Eddie and Linda Revels of Oakboro; adored nephews Grayson and Nathan Jarvis and niece, Kellyn Jarvis of Fair Bluff.

Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Wednesday, October 16 2013 at Fair Bluff Baptist Church, with visitation in the church’s Christian Life Center from 1:30 - 4:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Spring Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
