Edward Floyd Hammond, 83 of the Spring Branch community died Monday at Marion County Medical Center in Mullins. Mr. Hammond was born in Horry County to the late Crowley and Clara Grainger Hammond and was a member of Spring Branch Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca Louise Hammond. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday January 21, 2009 at The Spring Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, Dr. Ray Lundy and Rev. Jonathan Barbee will officiate. Mr. Hammond is survived by his daughter, Vickie Lynn Pless and her husband David of Fair Bluff; a granddaughter Sallie Sellers of Myrtle Beach and a sister, Doris Browne of Mims Florida. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made The Salvation Army.
