Eloise R. Edmund, 78 of Cerro Gordo died Thursday October 28, 2010 at Shoreland Healthcare in Whiteville. Mrs. Edmund was born in Lake View, SC and worked as a supervisor at Stone Manufacturing. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawton Edmund, a daughter Diantha Cartrette, a brother June Rogers and a sister Helen Capps. Funeral services for Mrs. Edmund will be held at 11 AM Saturday October 30 at Meares Funeral Home, Rev. Jerry Phillips will officiate. Burial will follow in the Edmund Cemetery. Surviving are 3 sons; Douglas Lawton Edmund of Fair Bluff, Joseph Richard Edmund of Evergreen, Walter Keith Edmund of Cerro Gordo; a daughter, Miriam Ann Whitaker of Carthage; 2 brothers, Clarence Rogers of Clemson SC, Bryan Bryant of Aynor SC; 2 sisters, Ora Lee Kinlaw of Las Vegas NV, Luradine Rogers of California; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
