Emrett T. Shelley, 88 of Bolivia, formerly of Cerro Gordo died Friday April 4, 2013 at Universal Healthcare.

Mrs. Shelly was born September 18, 1925 in Columbus County, a daughter of the late Charles Norman and Reka Herring Thompson. Mrs. Shelley was a member of Hinson’s Crossroads Baptist Church, were she served as the Beginner’s Class Sunday School Teacher and Nursery Attendant. She along with her husband, the late Cornie Shelley, owned and operated Shelley’s Country Store in the Hinson’s Crossroads Community. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by  4 brothers, Ray, James, Tom, and June Thompson and a sister, Irene Green.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, April 8 2014 at Hinson’s Crossroads Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Meares Cemetery.

Surviving are her daughter, Regina S. Todd and her husband Tony of Cerro Gordo and a granddaughter, Kimberly Todd.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 until 9 PM at Meares Funeral Home in Fair Bluff.
