Ernest Montgomery Barnes, 95 of Fair Bluff died Sunday November 11, 2012 at Columbus Regional Healthcare in Whiteville..

Mr. Barnes was born September 4, 1917 in Columbus County, a son of the late Benjamin Thomas and Bertie Worley Barnes, he was a member of Fair Bluff Baptist Church and a retired farmer. Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his wife Sadie Green Barnes and his son, Ernest Barnes, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday November 14, 2012 at the funeral home, Rev. David Hawes will officiate. Burial will follow in the Powell Cemetery.

Surviving are his daughter, Linda Barnes Stroud of Nichols, SC; 3 grandchildren Amanda Richardson, Darrell Richardson, Edie Lynn Hewett; 2 great grandchildren, Ash-Leigh Stevens, Hilaire Gabriel; 1 Great Great Grandchild, Baylee Gabriel.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Tuesday November 13, 2012 at the funeral home.
