Fannie Grey Richardson, 91 of Fair Bluff died Sunday at home. Mrs. Richardson was born in Columbus County to the late Berry Lee and Lela Belle Waddell Townsend. She was a lifelong member of Fair Bluff Baptist Church, where she was active in the WMU. Preceding her in death are brothers, B.L. Townsend, Carl Townsend, Clyde Townsend and sisters, Mary Belle Townsend Thurston, Ida Townsend Clarke, Gladys Townsend Rogers, Vernon Townsend Rogers, Ruth Townsend Finklea, Celia Lou Townsend Norris and Lottie Townsend Wells. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday February 10, 2009 at Meares Funeral Home, Dr. Ray Lundy will officiate. Burial will follow in the Powell Cemetery. Surviving are her husband, Winfred H. Richardson of the home; a brother, J.B. Townsend of Raleigh and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8PM Monday at the funeral home.
