Guilford Edwards, Jr. Prosperity, South Carolina Guilford Edwards, Jr., 73 of Prosperity, South Carolina died Saturday at home after an extended illness. He was a Retired Supervisor with Universal Tobacco Co. He was a Mason, Scottish Right & Shriner. He was a Member of Fresno Lodge 247 AF & AM, Fresno, California. He was a Member of Fair Bluff Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Mr. Edwards was born in Columbus County, The son of the late Guilford Edwards, Sr. and Clara Turbeville Edwards. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Edwards, Sisters, Bertha Smith and Wendy Georgis and one Grandchild, David C. Edwards, Jr. He is survived by his Loving Companion, Clarice Manning of Prosperity, SC; Three Sons, Joseph A. Edwards of Luffkin, Texas, David C. Edwards of Irmo, SC, Guilford Edwards, III of Fair Bluff, NC; One Daughter, Sabrina E. Mennella of Morehead City, NC; Three Brothers, Vollie Edwards of Fair Bluff, NC, Phillip Edwards of Chadbourn, NC, Robert Edwards of Fair Bluff, NC; Five Sisters, Faye Wiggins of Marion, SC; Shelby Harrellson of Raleigh, NC, Mickie Elliott of Chadbourn, NC, Rose Vassey of Maine, Alice Bass of Chadbourn, NC; Four Grandchildren, Elysia Edwards, Emily Edwards, Ethan Edwards and Isabella Mennella, Funeral Services will be held at Fair Bluff Baptist Church on Tuesday September 16, 2008 at 11:00 AM. Dr. Ray Lundy will officiate. Burial will be in the Edwards Cemetery, Cerro Gordo, NC. Visitation at Meares Funeral Home on Monday, September 15, 2008 from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital, 950 West Farris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
