Guy Elliott Strickland

Mr. Guy Elliott “Elrod” Strickland, 68, of Fair Bluff, NC, died February 17, 2020 at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville, NC.

Born in Lumberton, Robeson County, NC on June 16, 1951, he was the son of the late Seth Wesley and Dorothy Maxine Brown Strickland.

Mr. Strickland was a retired salesman.

A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 11:30 am at Parker Cemetery in Cerro Gordo, with the Rev. Neill Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am prior to the service at Meares funeral Home in Fair Bluff.

Surviving are a son and his wife, Douglas Seth (Jacqueline) Strickland; one brother and his wife, Roger W. (Lisa) Strickland of Fair Bluff; two sisters, Patricia “Pat” and (Jim) Jolly of Tabor City, and Veronica (Reggie) Strickland Soles of Whiteville; three grandsons, Douglas Strickland, Jr., Dylan Tripett, and Brandon Strickland; one granddaughter, Marissa Hope Bailey; one great granddaughter, Shirley Strickland.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John Wesley Strickland.

Services are entrusted to Meares Funeral Home.
