H.W. Conner, 83 of Fair Bluff died Thursday. Mr. Conner was born in Columbus County to the late Wilbert and Nettie Herring Conner, and was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by a daughter Debbie Bowen. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Saturday at Porter Swamp Baptist Church, Rev. Tim Moore will officiate, burial will follow in the Conner Family Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mary E. Conner of the home; 3 sons, Gene Conner of Southport, Danny Conner of Whiteville, and Henry "Junior" Conner of Wilmington; 2 daughters, Sue Nobles of Fair Bluff, and Elizabeth "Libby" Skipper of Whiteville; 3 sisters, Kathleen Polk of Georgia, Shelby Shaw of Clarkton, and Ruby Dean Helms of Abbottsburg; 13 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren
