Harold Wayne Rowell, 75 of Sidney-Cherry Grove Road Tabor City died Thursday March 18, 2010 at Premier Living of Lake Waccamaw. Mr. Rowell was born in Marion County SC, a son of the late Marion and Lucille Jordan Rowell. Mr. Rowell was a US Navy veteran and a retired air conditioning and refrigeration contractor. It was through his work that he had the opportunity to travel to Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran and the Panama Canal. He was an avid golfer. Mr. Rowell was preceded in death by a son Marion Cam Rowell. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Sunday March 21, 2010 at Cherry Grove Baptist Church, Rev. Josh Phillips will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Marty Rowell of the home; 2 sons, Kenneth Elliott and girl friend Beverly Benton of Tabor City, Brandon Channing Elliott and wife Lori of Tampa Fl; a daughter, Waynette Delgado and husband Mike of Brooksville FL; 5 grandchildren, Miguel and Mandy Delgado; Cameron Sohl; Skyler and Hunter Elliott; a brother, Wendell Rowell and wife Katie of Loris; 2 sisters, Barbara Blanton and husband V.T. of Loris and Mildred Lee of North Myrtle Beach, and four special pets, Peanut Butter, Charlie, Cassie and Vanilla Sky. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM Saturday March 20, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorials be made to The Sanctuary Fund, Cherry Grove Baptist Church 9833 Swamp Fox Highway West, Cerro Gordo NC 28430
