Harold Gene Stephens, 80 of Fair Bluff died Wednesday at Columbus Regional Healthcare in Whiteville. Mr. Stephens was born in Dillon SC, and was preceded in death by his wife Christine Waddell Stephens. He was retired from Progress Energy, was a US Army Veteran of Korea and was a 40 year member of Mackey Lodge # 77 AF & AM in Dillon SC. Graveside services with masonic rites will be held 11 AM Friday, June 5 at the Powell Cemetery in Fair Bluff, Rev. Neill Smith will officiate. Surviving are : 2 sisters, Beuna Ray Jones of Newton AL., Wilhelmina Whittaker of Texas; a stepson Pat Powell of Fair Bluff; a sister in law, Janie Stephens of Fayetteville and 2 step grandsons, Johnathan Babson and Patrick Powell. The family will receive friends at Meares Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6 - 8 PM.
