Hilton Jay Simmons, 50 of Chadbourn died Thursday March 31, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte. Mr. Simmons was born in Robeson County, a son of the late Lamar and Winnie Mae Brown Simmons. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Kennith Wayne "Bubble" Simmons. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Sunday April 3, 2011 at Macedonia Baptist Church, Rev. Linzy Nance will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife Doris Jackson Simmons of the home; a daughter Ashleigh S. Nobles and her husband Matt of Chadbourn; a grandson Logan Nobles; a niece Crystal S. Butler and her husband Jason of Clarendon and a brother Ronnie Nobles of Whiteville. The family will receive friends from 7 - 9 PM Saturday April 2, 2011 at Meares Funeral Home, Fair Bluff and at other times the family will be at 1412 East 11th St. Lumberton .
