James V. "J.V." Hooks, 80 of Fair Bluff died Wednesday December 23, 2009 at Loris Community Hospital.. Mr. Hooks was born in Horry County SC and was a retired meat cutter. He was preceded in death by a daughter Sandy Hooks. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday December 27, 2009 at Meares Funeral Home 795 Main Street Fair Bluff. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Nichols SC. Surviving are his children, Randy Hooks and his wife Pattie of Advance , Andy Hooks and his wife Susan of Marion SC, Ila Thompson of Fair Bluff, and Susan Thompkins and her husband Mike of Mullins SC; 9 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM Saturday December 26, 2009 at the funeral home.
