James Ray Turner, 52 of Evergreen died Friday October 5, 2012 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice’s Angel House in Whiteville.

Ray was born in Scotland County, the son of the late James Hoyt and Mildred Mae Barnes Turner. He was a licensed electrician, having owned and operated his own business since 1986.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday October 7, 2012 at the funeral home, burial will follow in the Powell Cemetery.

Surviving are: his wife, Geri H. Turner of the home; a son, Mark C. Gore of Nakina, a daughter, Hillary G. Batten of Chadbourn; a sister, Paula Moore of Fair Bluff and a granddaughter, Kaiya Batten .
