Jimmie Aquilla Scott (June 1 1922-November 17 2007) loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away in his sleep early Saturday morning . Mr. Jimmie was an alumnus of Duke University and a US Navy veteran serving in the Pacific during World War II, he was a major in the US Army National Guard, a Boy Scouts of America Scoutmaster and a Silver Beaver Award recipient. Mr. Jimmie was also a longtime chairman of the Administrative Council of Fair Bluff United Methodist Church and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Town of Fair Bluff. He owned and operated Scott Oil Company. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM WEDNESDAY November 21st at Fair Bluff United Church, Rev. Neill Smith and Dr. Ray lundy will officiate. Burial will follow in the Powell Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Jackie Rogers Scott of the home. A daughter Kay Scott Bullard and husband John of Laurinburg; four sons Jimmie A. Scott, Jr. and wife Robin of Chadbourn, Mark Rogers Scott and wife Ann of Myrtle Beach SC, Gregory D. Scott and wife Liz of Fair Bluff, and Neil Townsend Scott and wife Gay of Fair Bluff; Grandsons, Scott Walter Bullard and wife Shannon of Waco TX, John Patrick Bullard of Savannah GA, William Paul Scott of Fayetteville, Kyle Scott and wife Alicia of NM, granddaughters Jennifer Scott Andersen and her husband Kenny of Raleigh, Caroline Scott of Fair Bluff Mary Beth Scott of Fair Bluff, and Christina Scott of SC. Great Grandsons, Braden Paul Andersen of Raleigh, Judson and Desmond Bullard of Waco TX, and great granddaughter, Campbell Grace Bullard of Waco TX. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Sunday at Meares Funeral Home and at other times at Mr. Scott's home 112 Waddell Street. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Organ Fund of Fair Bluff United Methodist Church, PO Box 492 Fair Bluff NC 28439. Prayers may be said for the Scott family. May God bless us everyone.
