Adron "Jimmy" Blackwell, Jr., 73 of Fair Bluff died Thursday November 17, 2011 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center. Mr. Blackwell was born in Columbus County, a son of the late Adron anad Eula Turner Blackwell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, David Allen Blackwell, a brother Danny Blackwell and a sister Doris Blackwell Leigh. Funeral services will be conducted 3 PM Sunday November 20, 2011 at the Fair Bluff Church of God, Rev. Charles Dudley, Rev. Neill Smith and Rev. Ronald Alford will officiate. Burial will follow in the Powell Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Sue P. Blackwell of the home; his daughter, Janet Blackwell Barnhill of Fair Bluff; his brother, Jerry Truman Blackwell and his wife Cindy of Chadbourn; 2 sisters, Thelma Floyd and her husband L.C. of Garner and Jackie Blackwell of Lumberton; 3 granddaughters, Krista Leigh-Anne Barnhill of Fair Bluff, Elizabeth Paige Blackwell and her husband Cody of Fair Bluff, Alexandra Allyn Lee and her husband Stone of Fair Bluff and a great granddaughter,Kaleigh Grace Blackwell. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Saturday November 19, 2011 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Angel House, 206 Warrior Trail Whiteville NC 28472.
