Jonell Strickland Packer, 60 died Monday, July 22, 2013 at her home.

She was the daughter of Nellie Mae Strickland Richardson, the late Numan Strickland and the stepdaughter of the late Roger “Bob” Richardson. She was employed by the News Reporter in Whiteville, NC and later owner of Budget Printing Co. until her retirement.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Jimmy Earl Packer, two sons Lynn Packer and his wife Caroline of Tabor City, NC and Numan Packer of Tabor City, NC, one grandson William Reid Packer.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Wednesday July 24, 2013 at Cherry Grove Baptist Church, Cerro Gordo, NC. Interment will be in the Cherry Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 until 3 PM at the church.
