Larry Franklin Konecny passed away at Carolina Hospital of Marion, April 17, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Miriam Grace Elvington Konecny. He is survived by his son, William Michael Konecny and his wife Lila; a daughter, Lauren Konecny Facenda and her husband Dana; two grandsons, Aaron Joseph Facenda and Jesse William Facenda. They are all of Hilton Head, SC.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents the late Michael and Blanche Konecny of Latta, SC. Also two sons predeceased him: Larry Franklin Konecny and Plan L. Konecny.
He was dearly loved by his two sisters-in-law, Kathy Elvington Fabrizio and Amber Elvington Johnston.
He was a truly respected and loved son-in-law, by P.L. and the late Carolyn Elvington.
Larry was an honest, sincere and steadfast man. He was a hardworking man, who gave his best everyday. His dedication and ability to oversee others helped the companies he worked for to succeed.
Larry attended Temperence Hill Elementary School, Marion High School and Clemson University. While attending school Larry became a dedicated athlete in baseball, basketball and football. He excelled in all areas. His knowledge and enthusiasm for sports followed him throughout his life. Larry remained a die hard Clemson fan.

He was the Football Commissioner for Seminoles Jr. Warhawks Athletic Association in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Larry was happiest watching sports, playing on his computer, and being with his family. He loved his home.
Larry will be sorely missed by his family and friends for his gracious spirit. One was always welcome in Larry’s presence. We are comforted in knowing he is in perfect peace with his Heavenly Father.
Miriam Konecny extends her gratitude towards all the doctors, nurses, pharmacists, techs and medical staff who were always professional and compassionate in their treatment of Larry.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Meares Funeral Home in Fair Bluff, NC, Dr, Ray Lundy will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Nichols, SC. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
