Laura Inez Hammond, 81 of Cerro Gordo died Sunday at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville. Mrs. Hammond was born in Toombs County GA., a daughter of the late Collier & Crissie Rustin Hammond. She was preceded in death by her husband Donnie E. Hammond, a brother Franklin Erron Hammond, two sisters, Beatrice Hammond and Willie H. Evans and a half brother, Charles Eddie Hammond Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday at Hinson's Crossroads Baptist Church, Rev. Tim Swaringen will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hammond Cemetery. Mrs. Hammond is survived by 6 sons, Dane Hammond and his wife Helen , Dale Hammond and his wife Janet , Warren Hammond and his wife Joyce all of Cerro Gordo, Harold Hammond and Allen Hammond also of Cerro Gordo and Ferrell Hammond of Fair Bluff 11 grandsons, 4 granddaughters and 11 great grandchildren The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 - 9 PM at the Funeral Home.
