Linda Lee Komes Turner, 54, of the Spring Branch Community of Fair Bluff, died Saturday, Nov. 3, at Carolinas Hospital System in Florence, SC after a courageous and valiant struggle with muscular dystrophy, renal failure and diabetes. Mrs. Turner was born in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late George L. and Marian Rukavena Komes. She was a graduate of Mather High School, Chicago, IL, and Harper College, Palatine, IL. On August 9th 1997 she married her husband Allen. She was a retired receptionist. She is survived by her husband, Allen Turner, of the home. A lifelong animal lover who rescued hundreds of abandoned, stray and neglected animals over the years, she also is survived by her two dogs and four cats, whom she loved as much as most people love their children. At Linda's request, there will be no visitation and there will be graveside services only. Graveside services will be conducted Monday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. at Powell Cemetery in Fair Bluff by the Rev. Neill Smith and the Rev. Dr. Ray Lundy. Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Turner, Bob Waddell, Bill Waddell, John Bridgers, Frank Garrison and James Hinson.
