Lucille McPherson Strickland, 86, of Old Cribbtown Road, died Monday, October 24, 2106 at Columbus Regional Healthcare in Whiteville, N.C.

She was born September 3, 1930 in Columbus County, a daughter of the late Jack and Katie McPherson. Survivors included her sisters, Linda Simmons of Chadbourn, NC and Faye McPherson of Greensboro, NC; Grandsons Derek (Scarlet) of Cerro Gordo, NC and Cary of Greenville, NC.; 2 great grandchildren: Cody and Wyatt Strickland. She was preceeded in death by her husband Lennue Strickland, sons Randy and Sandy Strickland; and two brothers Perry and Harry McPherson.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, October 26 in the Beaverdam Freewill Baptist Church in Chadbourn, NC.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM - 2:45 PM in  the chuch. Burial will follow in the Strickland Family Cemetery ( beside Cherry Grove Baptist Church) Cerro Gordo, NC.
