Mrs. Marlene Williamson Jenkins Meares, 85, of Fair Bluff, departed this life on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at the Columbus Regional Healthcare.

She was born in Bladen County, NC on Wednesday, September 30, 1931; a daughter of the late Wilson and Lula Edwards Williamson.

Mrs. Meares was a member of Hinson’s Crossroads Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Friday, from Hinson’s Crossroads Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Meares Cemetery, Fair Bluff, NC.

Surviving are two sons, James A. (Darlene) Jenkins, Fair Bluff, NC and Terry A. (Frances) Jenkins, Latta, SC; three daughters, Martha (Mitchell) Grainger, Tabor City, NC, Vickie Owens, Fair Bluff, NC, and Rhonda (Van) Johnson, Dillon, SC; one brother, Leroy Williamson, Evergreen, NC; two sisters, Margaret Barnes, Orrum, NC and Emma  Bowen, Evergreen, NC; 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Wayne Jenkins; one brother, Clyde Williamson; two sisters, Elsie Butler and Mary Frances Williamson; and her husbands, Norlie Deames Meares and Albert Rudolph Jenkins.

The family will receive friends 7 to 9 PM, Thursday at the Meares Funeral Home, Fair Bluff, NC.
