Mary Catherine "Betty Jo" Haynes, 72 died unexpectedly Sunday May 22, 2011 at Columbus Regional Healthcare System. Known for her love of flowers, she was born July 14, 1938, a daughter of the late Edmond and Katie Strickland. She was a member of Hinson's Crossroads Baptist Church from which final rites will be held at 3 PM Tuesday May 24, 2011. Burial will follow in the Powell Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Elmer "Bug" Haynes of the home; four daughters, Cathy Nance of Cerro Gordo, Cindy Glenn and husband Randy of Mountain City TN, Angela Boaz and husband Tom of Hampstead, Nancy Murray and husband Steve of Waynesville; Grandchildren, Bridget Britt, Candace Armstrong and husband Josh, Brandy Burge and husband Stephen, Brandon Glenn, Hannah Boaz, and Zach and Leighann Murray. Great grandchildren, Aubrey, Victoria and Ethan; sister, Christine S. Hammond and two brothers, Floyd Strickland and T. J. Strickland. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 PM Monday May 23, 2011 at the funeral home.
