Mike Hammond, 59 of Fair Bluff died Tuesday November 5, 2013.

Mr. Hammond was born in Norfolk, VA, January 4, 1954, he retired from the Town of Fair Bluff as the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. Mr. Hammond was preceded in death by a son, Michael J. Hammond, II and by his father, Lenneau D. Hammond.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, November 9 2013 at Fair Bluff Baptist Church, burial will follow in the Powell Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, Abby Wallace Hammond of the home; a son, Michael L. Hammond of Fair Bluff; his mother, Geneva Hammond of Fair Bluff; a daughter, Tracy Hammond Nance and her husband Shane of Evergreen; 3 brothers, James Hammond of Whiteville, Randy Hammond of Cerro Gordo, Billy Hammond of Fair Bluff; and a granddaughter, Shana Nance.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Friday, November 8 2013 at Meares Funeral Home, Fair Bluff.
