Myrtle N. McAlister, 89 of Cerro Gordo died Sunday April 4, 2010 in Raleigh. Mrs. McAlister was a member of Cerro Gordo Baptist Church and had worked in various county government offices, retiring from the Register of Deeds Office after 28 years. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday from Cerro Gordo Baptist Church, Rev. Bobby Mowery and Rev. Hubert McCleney will officiate. Burial will follow in Piney Forest Baptist Church Cemetery. Surviving are her husband, James Henry McAlister of the home; a daughter, Nancy Lineberger and her husband Todd of Raleigh; 3 grandchildren, Lauren Madison Lineberger, Sophia Rose Lineberger and Benson Connor Lineberger. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM Tuesday April 6 at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Cerro Gordo Baptist Church PO Box 159, Cerro Gordo, NC 28430.
