Octavia Griffin Barber, 56 of Orrum died Monday February 28, 2011 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Barber was born in Hickory the daughter of the late Marion and Edna Roberts Griffin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Tracy Griffin and a daughter Grace Star Barber. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Friday March 4, 2011 at Bloomingdale Baptist Church, burial will follow in the Barnesville Community cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 2 PM until the time of the service. Surviving are her husband, Timothy Lynn Barber of the home; 2 sons, John Barber of Orrum and Danny Barber of Washington; 2 daughters, Denice Stephens and Melissa Barber both of Orrum; a brother, Miles Griffin of Iron Station; and 7 grandchildren.
