Denton NC, Paul James Brown, 86 of Denton died Thursday February 7, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Brown was born June 6, 1921 in Columbus County NC to Willie and Lucy Magnalene Jones Brown. He was preceded in death by his wife Jessie Ruth Altman Brown. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday February 9, 2008 at Meares Funeral Home in Fair Bluff. Burial will follow in the Souls Chapel Cemetery in Britton's Neck SC. Mr. Brown is survived by a daughter, Lori Paulette Brown Varner and her husband James Reese Varner and a son William Douglas Brown and his wife Kathy Garner Brown all of Denton. A sister, Martha Brown Osment of Mt. Pleasant SC. Three granddaughters, Kristy Leigh Varner, Lindsey Nicole Brown and Courtney Leigh Brown. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2 Pm Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
