Pinkie S. Wilson, 96 of the Cherry Grove Community died Saturday March 8, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Wilson was born in Columbus County February 27, 1918. She was one of 15 children born to Hubert and Lucy Williamson Strickland, of the 15 children, 12 lived to be adults. Mrs. Wilson was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church, where she was recently honored for having 52 years of perfect attendance. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Coleman and her second husband, Ralph Wilson, and 12 of her brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 11 Am Monday March 10, 2014 at the Cherry Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Rev. Josh Phillips will officiate. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 10 AM until the time of service.

Surviving are her son, Kenneth Coleman of Tabor City; her daughter in law, Mary Lee Coleman of Fair Bluff; a brother, Howard Strickland of Jacksonville FL; a sister, Mary Phillips of; 2 grandchildren Dale Coleman and Kim Coleman; 1 great granddaughter, Brittany Coleman; 2 stepdaughters and several nieces and nephews.
