Robert Earl "Happy" Strickland, 81 of the Cerro Gordo died Thursday May 13, 2010 at Columbus Regional Healthcare in Whiteville. "Happy" was born in Columbus County a son of the late Vollie and Alice Strickland, he was a graduate of The University of South Carolina. Graveside services will be held at 3 Pm Sunday May 16, 2010 at The Strickland Cemetery in the Cherry Grove Community, Rev. Elmore Strickland will officiate. Surviving are his siblings, Everette Strickland and Prudie S. Waddell of the home, Beamon Strickland of Clarkton and several nieces and nephews.
