Roscoe Strickland, 96 husband of 67 years to the late Nina Buffkin Strickland, passed away April 4, 2013 in Lexington, South Carolina.

Born October 9, 1916, in Horry County, SC, son of the late Hybert and Lucy Strickland, retired farmer, avid fisherman and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was a very devoted husband, father, brother, loved his dog Maggie and his cats.

Surviving are his daughters, Judy (Harold) Causey of Lexington, SC, Debbie (John) Cheatham of Edgefield, SC, Grandchildren, Michael (Jana) Causey of Simpsonville, SC, Mark Causey of Columbia, SC, Wes, Trish, Drew Cheatham of Edgefield,SC, Great-Grandsons, Craven and Grayson Causey of Simpsonville, SC, sisters, Mary (Tennie) Phillips of Holly Ridge, NC, Pinkie Wilson of Cerro Gordo, NC, brother, Howard Strickland of Jacksonville, FL, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Predeceased by sisters, Sissy, Betty, Essie, Eunice, and brothers, Joseph, Ollie, and Wallie.

Graveside services will be Monday, April 8, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Riverside Cemetery, Nichols, SC, conducted by Rev. Jerry Thomas Phillips. The family will receive friends at the cemetery for one hour prior to the service.
