Sadie M. Herring, 75 of Fair Bluff died Thursday February 28, 2008 at Columbus Regional Healthcare in Whiteville. Mrs. Herring was a daughter of the late Whiten and Fannie Meares. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rowland Leo Herring; and three sisters, Myrtle Hewitt, Mildred Meares and Irene Blackwell. Funeral services will be held at 2 Pm Saturday March 1st at Meares Funeral Home, Rev. Tim Moore, Rev. David Richardson and Dr. Ray Lundy will officiate. Burial will follow in the Powell Cemetery. Surviving are her children, Benny Herring of Phlimouth OR., Glenn Herring of Clayton, Linda Herring of Olde Towne, Leland and Rusty Herring Waddell of Fair Bluff; a brother, C.D. Meares of Fair Bluff and a sister Agnes Richardson of Lumberton. 10 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM Friday, February 29th at the funeral home.
