Susie Boswell Srickland, 82 of Fresh Branch Rd. Cerro Gordo died Wednesday at her residence. Mrs. Strickland was born in Columbus County a daughter of the late Rass and Carzet Soles Boswell. She was preceded in death by her husband Dennis Strickland, sons, Larry Strickland, Cecil Strickland and Mitchell Strickland. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Friday October 9, 2009 at Cherry Grove Baptist Church, Rev. Josh Phillips and Rev. Elmore Strickland will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving are a son, Billy Strickland of Cerro Gordo; 4 daughters, Peggy Dippel of Whiteville, Bonnie Worley of Fair Bluff, Linda Strickland of Cerro Gordo, Tammy Samuels of Calabash; 3 sisters. Ida Fipps of Tabor City, Thelma Maready of Charleston SC, Mary Simmons of Loris SC; 18 Grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Cherry Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 9833 Swamp Fox Highway West Cerro Gordo NC 28430
