Mrs. Verna Lee Collins Floyd, 78, a resident of Fair Bluff, NC died Sunday morning, March 3, 2019 at her residence.
She was born in Horry County, Sc on November 10, 1940; a daughter of the late Furman and Letha Wilson Collins.
Mrs. Floyd was a longtime member of Hinson’s Crossroads Baptist Church, where she kept the nursery for many years. Mrs. Floyd retired from Stone Manufacturing, where she worked for more than twenty years.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Hinson’s Crossroads Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Glen Stanley officiating. Interment will follow in the Floyd Family Cemetery.
Surviving are a son, Michael Carl Collins of the home: two daughters, Brookie Redwine (Earl) and Elizabeth Andrews (Gary) of Fair Bluff, NC; three sister, Zella Phillips, Elouise Blackwell, and Maybelline Perritt; a brother, Furman Collins; grandchildren, Adam Redwine (Jenna), Joshua Redwine, Leah Redwine, and Collin Andrews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Floyd and several brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 6 to 8 PM at Meares Funeral Home and other times at the home of daughter Brookie Redwine.
