Lt Col Victor “Vic” Mattison Floyd (Ret), of Fair Bluff, North Carolina, passed away September 19^th, his 73^rd birthday.  Vic was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather.  His passion for service was evident to his country, community and family.  He served his country with honor in the U.S. Air Force for 23 years.  Vic led volunteer teams in county-wide projects, most notably building handicap ramps and participating in national disaster relief efforts.  He supported church ministries as a deacon and leader of the Fair Bluff Baptist men.  Vic, a 1962 graduate of North Carolina State, was also an avid Wolfpack fan.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday, September 22th at Fair Bluff Baptist Church, Dr. Ray Lundy, Rev. Warren Hill and Rev. Neill Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in the Powell Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Amoret Rogers Floyd, son and daughter-in-law, Victor Mattison Jr. and Marian Floyd of Colorado Springs, Colorado; son and daughter-in-law, Russell Howard and Sharon Floyd of Purcellville, Virginia; grandchildren, Taylor Floyd, Abigail Floyd, Logan Floyd, Parker Floyd and Justin Floyd; and sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Robert Fleming of Atlanta, Georgia. Vic was preceded in death by his parents, Hasket Edward Floyd and Edna Britt Floyd, and his brother, Jerome “Jerry” Floyd.
