Virginia Geraline Connor, 85 died Saturday August 6, 2011 at Poplar Heights Care and Rehabilitation of Elizabethtown. Mrs. Connor was born in Columbus County a daughter of the late Hallie and Nana Purvis Benton. She was preceded in death by her husband James Connor and a son Douglas Connor. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Tuesday August 9, 2011 at Porter Swamp Baptist Church, Rev. Tim Moore will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Surviving are a daughter Pamela Connor of Lake Waccamaw; a brother, Wayne Benton of Fair Bluff; a sister, Margaret B. Jones of Spartanburg, SC and one grandson. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the church from 2 until 3 PM. Meares Funeral Home, Fair Bluff.
