Winfred H. Richardson, age 89, of Fair Bluff, N.C., passed away peacefully at his home after a brief illness on Tuesday, March 22, 2016. Winfred was the son of the late Jewel Gordon and Della Mae Richardson. He is survived by nephews David (Michelle) Richardson of Raleigh, N.C.; Jerry (Jodi) Richardson of Burlington, N.C.; grand nephew Jerry Jr. (Meredith) Richardson of Raleigh, N.C.; grand niece Mary (Jonathan) Bowers of Burlington ,N.C.; great grand nephew Elliott, and great grand niece Josie; and special caregiver Connie Ellis.

Winfred was a WWII veteran having served in the Navy. After the war he came back to Fair Bluff where he was the long time manager of Scott's Inc. He was an active member of the American Legion and a life long member of Fair Bluff Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Chairman of Deacons, and Sunday School teacher and director.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Fannie Grey Richardson.

A Graveside service will be held Friday, March 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Powell Cemetery, Fair Bluff, N.C. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the cemetery.
