Zellar Hinson, oldest child of Thomas Pinkman and Venie Hammond Hinson grew up on a farm two miles east of Fair Bluff. Zellar had a learning disadvantage. However, she loved and was loved by her family.

Her academic abilities were limited due to the time in the rural south. Many hours of her time were spent rocking on the front porch, singing songs, coloring, drawing and copying words from various books, especially history books about the presidents of the United States. This was a simple life in simple times.

Her favorite Presidents were George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Roosevelt (FDR), Eisenhower, Kennedy and Jimmy Carter. Even with her limited ability to learn she knew quiet a lot about these Presidents.

Graveside services were held at 11:00 AM Saturday September 5, 2015 in the Powell Cemetery, Fair Bluff.
